song drabbles part one

I posted the following on plurk:

Give me a number (or numbers) between 1 & 692 plus a prompt and I will write a drabble for you. Fandoms and characters/pairings are fine too. I only have the length of the song to come up with and write a drabble! Continuations are fine too.

This is part one, in which I post the unrelated drabblets.

#37, Faramir’s thoughts on his family.
My Life Would Suck Without You, Glee Cover.

He’d fought all the time with Boromir as they were growing up - he’d lost every time, too. Ah, the perils of being the younger brother. His father had always favoured his eldest, grooming him for the Stewardship while he’d been tossed out to pasture, patrolling the dangerous lands around Minas Ithil, not expected to live long at all. But they were still family, and even though they fought and bickered, they were all he had - apart from his unit. Honestly, he still thought of his unit as his brothers, even if they weren’t blood related.

#223, Beorn’s thoughts on entering the battle of the Five Armies
Raise Your Glass by Pink.

He’d once given hope of crossing the Anduin again, and resigned himself to never again wandering among the troughs and valleys of the Misty Mountains. Until that Gandalf showed up, retinue of hobbit and dwarves in tow. They were curious little people, especially the hobbit. He’d heard about them (who hadn’t) but the halflings were assumed to be a myth. They piqued his interest, and he put his ear to the ground again, slowly coming back into touch with the outside world. A chance to destroy the goblins? Why not. There were worse excuses to fight.

#475, with Tyki Mikk thinking about how much he enjoys both his light & dark sides.
The Siren, by Nightwish. Fitting.

The thrill of the chase was addictive, following his chosen and unsuspecting quarry, sometimes even going as far as to befriend them, and then the moment where they realised what a terrible mistake they’d made as his hand reached inside their rib cage, oh so gently caressing that most vital of organs, that one that symbolised love and all of the glory and horror that accompanied it. It was the most brilliant life, truly. His light side was all friendliness and deception; gain their trust and they’d fall head over heels to help you, and then allowing the darkness to seep into him, giving into the absolute pleasure of carrying out what he was born to do as a Noah. The ultimate predator, he could afford to pick and choose at his leisure, and it never ceased to be wonderful.

#42, d.gray-man, Kanda & Alma Karma
The Great Revival (Musicbox Version), from the Ace Attorney OST.

He’d never expected to be back here again, actually walking through the remains of the facility that made him. Everything was so much smaller, but then, he’d been a lot smaller when he was last here, so long ago. The pits were no longer filled with their “brothers”, who would never wake, and the lights had failed a long time ago. It didn’t matter. He’d lived here for long enough that he could close his eyes and let his feet navigate around the pits and columns, so strong was the memory. They’d explored every inch of this place, playing tag, hide and go seek, and every other game that they could remember. But that was then, when both of them lived and walked and breathed. Kanda knelt, dragging a gloved hand through the dust, and wished.
